Cisco Umbrella - Blocked Websites

Cisco Umbrella - Blocked Websites

Cisco Umbrella is a Cloud-driven Secure Internet Gateway that protects from Internet-based threats for users wherever they go. Umbrella’s global network processes billions of requests per day, analyzing and learning internet activity to determine where attacks are being staged, so it can block requests to unwanted and malicious destinations before a connection is even established.

Specific categories such as Gambling, Sex, Hate Groups, Hacking, P2P Sharing will be blocked by policy as well as sites associated with suspicious activity or identified as the source of a malicious threat or used in a previous attack are automatically blocked.

If a user tries to reach one of these domains, they are instantly blocked from accessing it and redirected to a landing page explaining why this domain is inaccessible.

If a website you are trying to reach is blocked and you believe there is a valid business need to unblock the site, a process is in place to allow users to request an unblock.  Users can click “Report an incorrect block” enter their contact information and a brief explanation.  Once submitted, ACS IT will process the request and contact you to resolve the issue.
