Work Illness or Injury

Work Illness or Injury

When you have a work-related illness or injury, ACS' Workers’ Compensation program and/or disability insurance provides medical treatment for you.

IdeaYou're automatically enrolled and eligible for Workers' Compensation benefits as of your first day of employment. If you have a work-related injury or illness, contact ACS HR at 703-662-5062 x1 or email hr@assured-consulting.com to report your injury/illness immediately.
Warning
In the event of an emergency, get medical attention first.

Follow these steps to access your Workers' Compensation benefits
  1. Inform your ACS manager and contact ACS HR immediately at extension 703-662-5062 x1 or email hr@assured-consulting.com. If applicable, ACS HR will provide you with information on how to file a Workers’ Comp claim with The Hartford, ACS' Workers' Compensation administrator, and/or a disability claim with Principal Insurance, and will direct you to resources for obtaining care. You will also be provided with a claim form which must be completed, signed, and returned to ACS HR for processing.
  2. Contact ACS HR if your injury or illness results in time away from work. In the event you must stop working due to a work-related injury or illness, contact ACS HR to submit a disability leave of absence claim. ACS' Workers’ Compensation policy provides income replacement in accordance with ACS' Short-term and Long-term Disability plans combined with any Workers’ Compensation benefits you are eligible to receive.
  3. In most instances, you may visit any licensed doctor. Contact ACS HR to see if there are designated providers in your area.
  4. Keep your ACS manager informed. If eligible for Worker's Compensation, you will be responsible for keeping your ACS manager informed, by providing a copy of your Work Status Report following each provider appointment, and forwarding a copy to your Hartford case manager and to ACS HR.
